Episode 44 – Johnny Mnemonic

In this episode of the show, we are discussing the 1995 cult classic Johnny Mnemonic. Over the course of our conversation we dig deep into William Gibson’s source material and how it relates to what’s on the screen, the film’s eerie prescience which may or may not include references to the ongoing pandemic, we share a few laughs at the expense of Ice-T, Dolph Lundgren and Udo Kier and – naturally – call into question Keanu Reeves’ acting range. That’s all in addition to simultaneously admiring and critiquing the film’s strange aesthetic and its ambition to become a cerebral blockbuster that would cement Reeves as a bona fide action star of the 90s.

Tune in and enjoy!
