Episode 160 – Airport Sequels

In this jumbo jet-sized episode we are joined by our great buddy Jak to talk about the three movies that followed the 1970 Airport: Airport ’75, Airport ’77 and The Concorde… Airport 1979. Over the course of our conversation you will hear what we think about the early days of Hollywood franchising, how the Airport movies are either B-movies or Bond movies without Bond, and whether their titles reflect reality. We also talk about giving old stars stuff to do, Charlton Heston as a 60s Superman, monetizing The New Hollywood and whether it is a good idea to open the window in a supersonic jet flying at super-high altitudes, even if you’re being chased by a stray rocket.

Tune in and enjoy!
